Shonagh Dorricott

Qualified Extended Duty Nurse GDC no. 160489

Hi my name is Shonagh and I am very likely to be the person you speak to on the other side of the phone line when you call the practice. I’m also a qualified Dental Nurse, I qualified in 2000 from Langside College. Occasionally you may meet me in the surgery assisting Usman. The best part of my job is dealing with patients and getting to them through their dental journey. I am the Childsmile Nurse at the practice, I try to help mums and dad with diet advice, tips on brushing and helping your wee ones have an enjoyable visit at Merrylee Dental Practice. Recently I have been working towards my Impression Qualification, taking dental impressions for teeth whitening and study models, this brings new challenges to your every day job. I have 3 children and 2 dogs, this keeps me busy outside work. I enjoy spending time with my family & friends and reading my kindle.

Lucy Cairns

Qualified Nurse GDC no. 25541

Lucy joined the practice in January as a trainee dental nurse.  I’m a bit on the old side to be a trainee, but after living in France for 6 years and deciding to come home, I needed a new challenge and something to do with myself.  So, having always, maybe a bit weirdly, enjoyed visiting the dentist I decided upon dental nursing.   I’ve just sat my final exam and am waiting with baited breath for my results!  I love working at Merrylee Dental Practice both meeting and helping treat our patients.   When I’m not working, you’re most likely to find me on some exploration mission or other.  I love touring (and eating my way) about Scotland with my partner as my sidekick.

Ellis Paton

Dental Nurse NEBDN

Ellis joined the practice in 2015 as a trainee dental nurse, she gained her NEBDN qualification in 2017. Ellis is a very friendly and approachable dental nurse. She is enthusiastic and passionate while working in the practice. She is very ambitious and has set goals for her future. She thrives on helping give patients a confident smile and finds it extremely rewarding gaining the trust of each and every patient who walks into the practice. In her free time she enjoys dining out and spending quality time with family and friends. She also likes to spend time keeping fit at the gym.

Louise Armour

Dental Nurse

Louise joined the team in August 2014 as a trainee dental nurse, at this time she was studying at New College Lanarkshire working towards her Diploma in Dental Nursing and qualified in July 2015. Louise is friendly and a very approachable dental nurse, she enjoys all aspects of her role and enjoys meeting new people everyday. Since qualifying Louise has been keen to improve her knowledge and skills throughout her working day. Louise enjoys dancing to keep fit and also has a diploma in professional stage dance, she has a young son who keeps her busy out with work and in her own time loves spending time with her family and socialising with friends.
