PRIVATE TREATMENTS

Hygiene Visit

Purpose of a Hygiene Visit

Hygienists help you to obtain healthy gums that don’t bleed, fresh breath and spotlessly clean teeth. They will also teach you how to optimise your own cleaning skills to use at home.

If you suffer from periodontal disease which causes bone destruction and loose teeth, hygienists are essential – with gentle, but thorough cleaning, they can slow the process down so that you stand a much better chance of keeping your teeth for life.

If during a hygiene appointment we notice that you may need other general dental treatment, we'll advise you of your options from there and can make the relevant appointments for you.

FACT

The enamel on the top surface on your tooth, is the hardest part of your entire body.

TIP

A diet that is rich in vitamins, minerals and fresh fruit & vegetables can help prevent gum disease.

FACT

Visiting a Dentist twice a year is imperative for dental health.

FACT

Babies' teeth begin to develop before they are born, but in most cases don't come through until they're between 6 and 12 months old.

TIP

Floss or use an interdental brush every day to remove food, debris and plaque lodged between your teeth.

FACT

There are 32 adult teeth in total – 12 more than in the baby set.
